I spent half my time at IBM and half at the Port Authority of NY and NJ which ran the World Trade Center, Port of Elizabeth NJ, the PATH transit system, the Lincoln Tunnel and the George Washington bridge. My first assignment was to discover why the toll collectors at the bridge were more unhappy than those at the tunnel, despite working conditions being better at the bridge than the tunnel.
